We're delighted to announce our best ever line-up of UK and Scottish premieres, director Q&As and related workshops changing the world one frame at a time. Kicks off Thursday 23 September...

Welcome to the action.

The third Take One Action Film Festival takes place at Edinburgh Filmhouse and Glasgow Film Theatre from Thursday 23 September to Tuesday 5 October. You can view and download the FESTIVAL GUIDE now, and full details including trailers, speakers, workshops and booking will be on this site from Monday 9 August. Highlights include... - the UK premiere of the epic Climate Refugees, with director Michael Nash in Scotland for Q&As in Edinburgh and Glasgow - the Scottish Premiere of Sundance favorite Budrus, about transformative protest against separation in Israel-Paelstine, with the film's award-winning Brazilian director Julia Bacha here for Q&As - the bicycle-powered, all age, twilight garden preview screening and Scottish Premiere (!!) of animated adventure Mia and the Magoo - inspirational activists from around the world including the stars of Nero's Guests (the multi-internationally award-winning Indian reporter, P Sainath) and Persona Non Grata (the priest-artist Venezuelan folk hero Frans Wuytack) - dedicated strands on the Millennium Development Goals, Green Shoots and Alternative Visions from Latin America. In addition to more than 30 screenings, we've our regular line-up of schools screenings from 14 September - please tell your child's school about the programme. Plus dozens of related events including exhibitions, tree-planting, great food, music, activist workshops, speaker events and much more.

Tickets available online or through cinema box offices from 9 August. Pick up a loyalty card and grab a freebie See 5 films at the festival or through the year to get into a sixth free. You can also gift your freebie to a friend. Loyalty cards available and stamped at the Box Office when tickets are collected in person. Valid for visits between Edinburgh and Glasgow!
