We're looking for new Trustees from a variety of backgrounds...

Love film? Want to see more people inspired to be the change they want to see in the world?

Take One Action (registered charity SC041430) is inviting applications from people with vision and commitment who would like to actively support our work as a Trustee. Application by CV and cover letters are invited by 5pm Friday 6th January 2012.

About us
Take One Action's innovative cinema events celebrate the people and movies that are changing the world. We want world-class films about issues of global concern to be enjoyed and discussed by mainstream cinema audiences in the UK. We want to enable people to see the links between their lives and the extraordinary stories explored on film. Ultimately, we want to inspire and empower these audiences to take their own creative steps to address current global challenges.

What's involved in being a Trustee?
We want great ideas, energy, passion and experience to stand behind everything we do. As a young organisation, our Trustees are absolutely essential to safeguarding and strengthening our ethos and impact. Trustees are expected to take an active interest in the development of the charity, and from time to time take on individual projects to that end. Applicants must be prepared to travel to Edinburgh at least four times a year. This is an unpaid, voluntary role, but relevant expenses will be covered (travel expenses limited to UK travel).

What are we looking for?
In particular, we are looking for people with a strong voluntary or professional track record in:

  • the financial or accounting sector
  • human resources
  • community outreach/community education.

We are particularly welcoming of applications from men and from black and ethnic minority community members - but all applications are welcome.

How do I apply?

  • Read our Organisational Charter to find out exactly what we do and why we do it.
  • Browse our recent events archive for an insight into what we've been up to lately
  • Take a look at the Trustee Job Description so you have a sense of the legal framework that our Trustees operate in.
  • Email us your CV with a cover letter outlining your interest in becoming a Trustee and highlighting your most useful skills/experience. We would encourage you to highlight any personal experience you have had of Take One Action. The deadline for applications is 5pm Friday 6th January 2012. Please email your application to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). If you have any questions about the role in advance of making an application please email or telephone 0131 553 6335.
