Chris Atkins, director of the jaw-dropping Taking Liberties, in Q&A at Take One Action 2009
Two years ago Chris Atkins veered away from more conventional filmmaking to tackle the story of the loss of civil liberties in Britain in his new film Taking Liberties. The film, screening on Saturday 26th September (Filmhouse, 5.15pm), charts the sometimes comical and often outrageous stories of ordinary people from teenage girls to RAF veterans being arrested for upholding basic civil liberties which have been in place since Magna Carta.
We are delighted to have Chris doing a Q&A, opening up the discussion: just how solid is our right to challenge and criticise government policies we don’t agree with?
