"Take One Action's focus on empowering local audiences to engage through film with global and environmental injustice is unique in the UK. This work is really, really important."

Liz Harkman
Trustee, runner, Encounters festival director - Bristol
Liz is Managing Director of Encounters, the UK’s principle short film festival, where she manages a large team of staff, volunteers and projects underpinned by strong partnerships across Bristol’s thriving local communities. In her spare time she is closely involved in campaigning for human rights with the Saharawis of Western Sahara, a dispossessed and marginalised community that live as refugees on the front line of desertification in south west Algeria. She has a particular interest in cinema from the developing world, and also enjoys running, cycling, kayaking, walking and reading.
