"Take One Action's focus on empowering local audiences to engage through film with global and environmental injustice is unique in the UK. This work is really, really important."

Organisation Profile | Co-operative Membership
The Co-operative Group is a unique business democratically run and owned by its members to meet their common needs and aspirations. In turn, the strength and commitment of our membership is vital in helping us achieve our goals. So instead of blindly chasing profits like businesses controlled by shareholders, we are able to steer our business in a more responsible direction.
Membership sits at the heart of The Co-operative Group - it's what makes us very different from other businesses and it's what 5 million of you are proud to be a part of. Led by our values and principles, we work with members to tackle issues that are important to them – from helping the community to tackling global climate change. Membership is open to everyone who shares our values and principles.

Toxic Fuels Our Toxic Fuels campaign, in partnership with WWF-UK, is campaigning to stop the expansion of unconventional fuels, focussing on tar sands in Alberta, Canada. Already, thousands of members have attended screenings of the tar sands film Dirty Oil to find out about and take action on the issue. This toxic fuel extraction doesn't simply risk ecological disaster; it also undermines global efforts to avoid dangerous levels of climate change. We must do something now.
Votes at 16 The Co-operative Group has joined the Votes at 16 Coalition to campaign for the voting age to be lowered. We've operated a democratic structure that is fully open to people aged 16 and above for over a century. We feel very strongly that in order for young people to play an active role in society, the first step is to trust, respect and empower them. Get involved.
