Welcome to our new co-chairs!

This week we are delighted to be welcoming two new co-chairs to the organisation – Tomiwa Folorunso, who has been a trustee for six months, and Aidan Nicol who is a fresh face to the Take One Action board. Together they bring innovative thinking, creativity and strategy to the leadership of the organisation, as well as a shared deep love of film and its transformative potential to change hearts and minds.

Based in Edinburgh, Tomiwa is a Nigerian-Scottish editor, cultural producer and project manager. She was previously editorial director at Fringe of Colour Films and has worked for a number of festivals including Glasgow Film Festival, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and Edinburgh International Film Festival. She has a special interest in Black-Scottish histories and contemporary stories in film and literature and writes a newsletter.

Aidan hails from Shetland and is now living in Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders. She has been happily resident in the South of Scotland working in Dumfries & Galloway and the Borders for the past seven years. Aidan is currently development manager for the Southern Uplands Partnership – an environmentally and culturally engaged, rural development charity- working across these regions. She has a background in film production, film exhibition and screen education – and has been working on community engaged arts strategies within national and locally operating, multi-artform organisations for the past 15 years.

Aidan’s work managing and delivering creative, place-based programmes has spanned Scotland; from hype local, community-led programming in the Glenkens to film festival producing across the Outer Hebrides and, most recently, developing place-specific, visual-theatre engagement opportunities in Caithness, North Lanarkshire and Edinburgh with Manipulate Arts. Aidan has a particular interest in animated film, community-led action, climate and environmental biodiversity work – with a passion for bogs and being immersed, muddily, in wild places.

We would like to extend our huge gratitude to Lindsay Dunbar, who has been chair of our board since 2020 and is now stepping down to explore pastures new. Lindsay has steered and supported Take One Action through challenging and exciting times, and has played a huge part in the strength of the organisation today. We will miss Lindsay greatly, but are please that she will remain involved in Take One Action as part of our Inverness steering group.
