The Edinburgh Remakery is a social enterprise, community repair hub and second-hand shop based in the Leith area of Edinburgh. Our vision is to create an alternative to a disposable society by making repair education accessible to all, to build a stronger, waste-free community and support vulnerable people within our city.
Edinburgh Tool Library is the UK’s first tool library, promoting sharing as a way of reducing our environmental impact.
We lend our members tools for DIY, gardening, decorating and machine repair, so that they don’t need to own them. Not only does this collaborative approach make sense environmentally, it also helps our members financially.
XR Highlands and Islands supports the formation of local XR groups across the Highlands and Islands, working with groups across Scotland, and the rest of the planet, to take urgent action in the face of climate change, as part of the global climate justice movement.
Abriachan is a scattered rural community of about 130 people set high above the shores of Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland. Abriachan Forest Trust manages 540 hectares of forest to create local employment, improve the environment and encourage it’s enjoyment by the public.
Trees for Life are a conservation charity dedicated to rewilding the Scottish Highlands. So far they have established 44 tree planting sites and planted nearly two million trees. Trees for Life’s vision is of a revitalised wild forest, providing space for wildlife to flourish and communities to thrive.
The Chapel of St Mary the Virgin has been the presence of the Scottish Episcopal Church in the centre of Ullapool, since 1976. Having recently become an eco-congregation the Church now has a strong programme of activities to engage the congregation with discussions and actions around climate justice.

School uniforms are a costly part of school life, financially and environmentally. We want to find clever ways to reduce these costs, whilst ensuring all kids have access to quality school uniforms.

Greener Melrose are an unincorporated, not-for-profit, intentional community whose members are acting individually and collectively to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lead more sustainable lifestyles and face the challenge of peak oil and climate change.
Transition Stirling is an environmental charity focusing on improving awareness of, and providing a positive local response to, climate change in and around Stirling.
It was formed in October 2009 by a group of volunteers for people who want to work on positive solutions to the problems the Stirling area will face in the future due to rising oil prices and climate change.
The Shrub Swap and Reuse Hub is Edinburgh’s hub for creative reuse. In 4 years it’s grown from an idea into an exciting community hub for sustainable living.
We’ve put loads of love into our space on Guthrie Street and it’s looking and running better than ever, offering hundreds of creative reuse and repair workshops and enabling you to reduce your waste by swapping things you don’t need for things you do.
