An American teen helps run the revolution in Syria from her bedroom.

Armed with Facebook, Skype and camera phones, 19-year-old Ala’a and her social network on the ground in Syria collaborate to dodge snipers and shelling and document some of the 160,000 Syrian deaths that the world can’t otherwise see. But getting the message out isn’t necessarily enough. As revolution rages on, everyone in the network must finally decide whether to fight on as journalists, or take up rebel arms themselves.
