Film Synopsis: Dreaming Of Wine

Director: David Fernández de Castro | Year: 2016 | Length: 69 min
Language: Samoan, Spanish with English subtitles | Age: 12+ years

The finest wines all have a story to tell.

For many Priorat vineyards, it’s a feel-good story of triumph against the odds, and how five idealistic hippies formed a cooperative to turn a land with no future into one of the most important wine-producing regions in the world.

There is much to relish in Dreaming of Wine – from the gorgeous archive stills of harvest to its protagonists’ deep respect for the vines, the land, the grapes, but also for the people who have made Priorat such a formidable success. Reviving a centuries-old tradition, their dedication has seen local youth return home to take pride in a land and a skill that had been forgotten – a pride too few young people in Spain currently enjoy.
