Minari / Their Accounts
Film Synopsis: Minari
A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
Screening with short film: Their Accounts (Hannah Hunter, 2024), an archival and animated exploration of the past, present and future of Ardnamurchan through the voices of its young people.

Beyond the Screen
Stay on after the screening for a Q&A with Their Accounts filmmaker Hannah Hunter to explore the challenges and opportunities for Highlands life for its young inhabitants. We’ll also bring Minari‘s themes into conversation with the Scottish Highlands – a landscape that brings with it pull of rural life, the resilience required to sustain it, and the communities that form when people choose to make a life on the margins.
This screening has been programmed and planned by Arlo, a member of Eden Court Cinema’s Youth Board.
