A workshop of synthesised sound-making for 16-25 year olds!

Responding to the concepts of Jeremy Deller’s Everybody in the Place, Kyalo Searle-Mbullu will lead an electronic music-making workshop for young people. Participants will be introduced to the basic core elements of electronic music, and learn through hands-on collaboration, exploration and experimentation by connecting and sequencing electronic instruments to explore sounds and create a song of their own.

Kyalo Searle-Mbullu is a musician and audio-visual artist. His practice spans live performances and installation, exploring the liminal spaces between sound and vision through the multi-sensorial merging of light, projections, and the physicality of sound. Central to his work is the perception of abstract ideas and identities through themes of ephemerality and acoustic ecology.

A ticket to this event will automatically book you into the screening of Everybody in the Place which starts at 3.30pm – more info here.

This event is hosted in partnership with the National Gallery as part of the public programme for The Triumph of Art, a nationwide project by artist Jeremy Deller. The project has been commissioned by the National Gallery, London, as part of NG200, its Bicentenary celebrations and is being developed in partnership with Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, Mostyn Gallery in Llandudno, The Box in Plymouth and The Playhouse in Derry-Londonderry.

Booking Information

To make our events more accessible, we operate a sliding scale ticket policy (thanks to SQIFF for leading the way). Choose what to pay based on your personal circumstances, from £0-10. All we ask is that you are honest with us so that we can continue offering this flexibility to those who need it most. When you pay a higher price for a ticket, you help subsidise a ticket for somebody on a lower income.

Graphic with turquoise background with the white Take One Action logo in the top left corner. White text top-right reads 'Sliding Scale Ticketing' and white text underneath reads 'How much should I pay?; £0-2: I find it difficult to meet everyday costs; £4-6: I can meet everyday costs but sometimes find it stressful to do so; £6-8: I can meet everyday costs; £10: I can comfortably meet my everyday costs and have savings too'
