Take One Action is excited to be popping up at Lighthouse Books’ Radical Book Fair with an interactive installation! Radical Reels is a low-fi pop-up encouraging you to create a short reel responding to and engaging with some incredible texts and ideas featured in the Radical Book Fair – from queer poetry to protest stories, writing about abolition or the experience of burnout, to thinking about transfeminine futures and the body of a march moving through the streets. It’s a gentle invitation to purposefully step outside the passive rhythm of the scroll – and rethink the citizen archive of social media as a rich ground for radical messaging that must be taken from the screen to the streets.

Come for as long as you like, make the experience as interactive as you like! Keep it as low-tech as you like, too – there will be plenty of analogue art supplies to get stuck into as well.

ACCESS: While the main Radical Book Fair event space is wheelchair accessible, Radical Reels will be taking place in the venue’s basement snug space, which can only be accessed via a staircase and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Some of the clips played will contain flashing images.
