Something Fishy… (Ullapool screening)
Film Synopsis: Until the End of the World
Until the End of the World is a journey across three continents, following a journalistic investigation into the fish farming industry. Aquaculture is the fastest growing food industry in the world, promising to be a sustainable solution to feed a growing global population that could reach 9.7 billion people in 2050.
The film, however, exposes a different reality: local communities in different regions are fighting against the expansion of fish farms, accused of polluting pristine waters, grabbing natural resources and even fostering hunger and food insecurity.
PLAY TRAILERBeyond the Screen
Stay on after the screening for a Q&A with the film’s director, Francesco de Augustinis, as well as panel and audience discussion with Shona Cameron from Climavore in Skye and Bally Philip of the Scottish Creel Fishermen’s Association, where we will dive deeper into industrial fish farming in Scotland and what we can do to help tackle its impact on local and global ecosystems and communities.
Booking Information
To make our events more accessible, we operate a sliding scale ticket policy (thanks to SQIFF for leading the way) across all our venues and online. Choose what to pay based on your personal circumstances, from £0-10. All we ask is that you are honest with us so that we can continue offering this flexibility to those who need it most. When you pay a higher price for a ticket, you help subsidise a ticket for somebody on a lower income.
