Still the Enemy Within
Film Synopsis: Still The Enemy Within
In 1984, Margaret Thatcher’s government began announcing the closure of coalmines. Soon, an unprecedented 160 000 miners took up the fight against pit closures and took part in a lengthy battle that would radically alter Britain’s social, environmental and economic landscape.
Through moving, first-and accounts from miners and their supporters – at times funny, tragic or terrifying – Still the Enemy Within tells the story of those who were on the frontline of the strike, taking the audience on an emotionally powerful journey through the dramatic events of that year.
