Film Synopsis: Vanishing of the Bees

Director: Maryam Henein, George Langworthy | Year: 2009 | Length: 94 min
Language: English | Certificate: U Cert

Bees are prime pollinators, responsible for one third of the food we eat, including most of our fruits, vegetables, nuts and livestock feed.

However, abandoning their hive, queen and brood, bees are now succumbing to Colony Collapse Disorder and dying in their billions.

This year long investigation into CCD probes the question of why the bees are dying, with conflicting answers from scientists, farmers, beekeepers and government agencies. It also looks at the opportunities for change and growth, like biodynamic and organic farming and alternative beekeeping methods.
