In Ãgawaraitá: Amazonian Stories, filmmaker Priscila Tapajowara weaves together documentary and mythology in two gentle portraits of indigenous and riverine people from the Amazon.
The films – Nancy (16min) and Mother of the Water (23min) – pay tribute to the role of spirituality in the fight for land rights in the face of state violence and the destruction of indigenous land. The production was made by Nato Audiovisual, an indigenous filmmaking collective, with an Amazonian team.
