Mobile phone manufacturing requires specific minerals for electronic components, much of which are mined in a volatile area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The area has become deeply unsafe and home to illegal mines, run down shanty towns, slavery, exploitation, warlords and violence.
Blood in the Mobile looks at illegal mines in North-Kivu and questions the reluctance of mobile phone companies to take responsibility.
It aims to raise awareness of the issue of illegal mining, as well as highlighting a lack of corporate social responsibility from the mobile phone industry.
