Conservation and Governance in the Amazon Piedmont

Director: Vanessa Coronado | Countries of production: Colombia | Year: 2016 | Length: 6 min
Language: No dialogue

The Colombian Amazon Piedmont connects the high Andes with the Amazonian plains, home to over 29 ecosystems and the birthplace of the Putumayo Rivers which feed directly into the Amazon. It is also a hotspot of deforestation and one of the regions most affected by the presence of illegally armed groups.

This film promotes sustainable models of production as an alternative not only to lessen the environmental impacts which lead to climate change but also a peaceful alternative to illicit ways of life in a region preparing for peace.
