For fifty years, Sona has lived a life of simple self-sufficiency in her ramshackle countryside home, the only intrusion on her quiet existence are the regular visits she receives from her neighbour, 7-year old force-of-nature Mairi.
But now black smoke chokes the once-clean air, her neighbours are being forced from their homes and massive, industrial constructions are advancing across the horizon. With the day of her own eviction looming, Sona stubbornly resists the unstoppable forces that threaten to destroy her world. Can her relationship with Mairi somehow hold the key to preserving her way of life?
