As the world’s biggest plastic waste importer, China receives ten million tons per year from most of the developed countries around the world. Plastic China follows the lives of 11-year-old Yi-Jie and her family as they live and work at a plastic waste recycling workshop, recycling the waste with their bare hands. The film explores the toll this takes on their health, wellbeing and surroundings.
