    About the fund
    Take One Action Film Festivals has a limited number of free tickets for its events available to registered organisations who can evidence how they will distribute these tickets exclusively to:
    • young people not in full-time work or education
    • unwaged, vulnerable or at risk beneficiaries;
    • those with demonstrably limited access to independent cinema or the arts as a result of cultural or physical barriers;
    • low-income members of community groups that are socially active in ways directly relevant to specific events within our programme.

    Availability
    A minimum of 5 tickets and a maximum of 10 may be applied for per organization per event. Tickets are strictly subject to compliance and availability directly through Take One Action only, via this online application form.

    How we assess applications
    You will be awarded tickets based on you providing:
    • evidence of your group’s need
    • a clear plan of how you will make tickets available to your group in good time for the event you have chosen.

    Do you receive actual tickets in the post?
    No – if your application is approved you’ll be notified that the individual who is named on your application should collect tickets from our festival team in person 30 minutes before the advertised start of the event, at the relevant venue. Tickets are non-transferable. If on the day you have more tickets than you need, please return these to the box office for resale. If your plans change please let us know as early as possible so that other people can enjoy the event in your place. If not collected, your tickets will be made available to others15 minutes before the advertised start of the event.

    Time to apply
    Applications must be made not less than seven days before your chosen event. It should take you about 5 minutes to read this guidance, and 5 minutes to complete the online application form. We aim to reply and approve or decline your application within 3 working days. We expect a good proportion of those who apply meeting the criteria to be successful. However, tickets are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so please apply as soon as possible. Need a Plan B? Tickets are normally still available to purchase in advance on the day for most events, although we regret we cannot guarantee this.

    Which event?
    Please make sure you have chosen an event that your group/beneficiaries would find accessible, and one that is age appropriate. If you aren’t sure, you can contact us at [email protected] or on 0131 553 6335. Please consider what support your beneficiaries may need both to get to the venue, and to get the most out of the event. We recommend where appropriate that a qualified volunteer or member of staff representing your organisation accompanies beneficiaries.

    Get more out of a visit – including school and youth groups
    Take One Action is always happy where our capacity allows to meet with visiting groups to tell them more about the festival, the issues covered in the films we show, or our projects – including youth and adult Film Clubs. If you are interested in finding out more, please ask when you contact us.

    Sustainability and feedback
    We want to grow this scheme. Please help us by allocating tickets only to those who need them, paying most attention to beneficiaries who cannot afford them. We will ask every group’s lead contact to feed back to us on the group’s experience of the event by email, which will not take more than 2 minutes.
