RoWAN wants to help people reduce their waste. A Scotland that is zero waste is going to be healthier and cleaner. We have participated in a broad range of environmental work. As a Community charity we are going door to door for the Waste Less Inverness project on recycling and working in schools in the RUUp4It project doing composting and gardening.
TRJFP intercepts food that would otherwise not make it to plate and serves it as delicious meals. Alongside the positive environmental impacts of reducing edible food waste, the project has clear social benefits through operating a strictly Pay-as-you-feel (PAYF) policy. Transcending monetary transactions, this liberates people to use their skills and attributes as well as money to pay for their meals, & highlights the absurdity that the produce used has been stripped of its monetary value but retains its nutritional value. TRJFP encourages a reflection on how we value food as a resource.
TRJFP Glasgow welcomes your contribution! Would you like to help cook / serve / serenade us while dining / help design leaflets or website…?
