Global Bersih

Global Bersih is a non-profit organization established under the Swiss Civil Code. It aims to support Malaysian civil society’s efforts to strengthen Malaysia’s maturing democracy using peaceful and legal means of action. For Malaysia to progress as a democratic society, the citizens’ right to a free and fair elections which is professional, impartial and transparent in all its stages of its administration must be promoted and protected.

Global Health Academy (University of Edinburgh)

The Global Health Academy at the University of Edinburgh aims to improve global health and make life better through collaborative, interdisciplinary research, education and resource development.

The Academy, which has members within the University and across the world, encompasses all three Colleges across the University and is built on three pillars of activity in which the University excels:

· Global networks and partnerships

Palcrafts

Palcrafts is a registered charity that aims to relieve poverty for Palestinians by providing a sustainable source of income and also to raise awareness in the UK of Palestinian issues. This is done through maintaining a small resource centre with books, DVDs and magazines, and also through educational meetings with Palestinian speakers and recent visitors to the Middle East.

Edinburgh Greenpeace

We investigate, expose and confront environmental abuse by governments and corporations around the world. We champion environmentally responsible and socially just solutions, including scientific and technical innovation through public engagement, street campaigning, political lobbying, actions, activities with kids, background research for campaigns, fundraising… and socialising :)

Friends of the Earth Tayside

We campaign on a range of environmental issues to persuade politicians and businesses to adopt policies and practices which are more environmentally beneficial, taking account of their environmental impact and understanding how taking care of the environment helps us all. We encourage the public to adopt positive environmental behaviours, and collaborate with other green groups for greater impact

One World Centre

The objectives of the OWC are to promote Development Education and:
a) to enable people to understand the links between their own lives and those of people throughout the world
b) to increase understanding of the economic, social, political, cultural and environmental forces which shape all our lives
c) to enable people to find ways to bring about change by acting locally to create a more just,

Edinburgh World Justice Festival

Set up after the Make Poverty History march in Edinburgh during the 2005 G20 meeting, the festival aims to
1. raise the profile of international justice and development issues;
2. provide an annual ‘shop window’ to the public; and
3. be a platform for co-operation and debate for the world justice movement in Edinburgh.
It puts together the programme of the festival which in 2014 is from 04 – 11 October, organising some key events, and co-ordinating all the other events which are put on by supporting organisations

SCIAF

SCIAF is the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, the official aid and international development charity of the Catholic Church in Scotland. We work in over 16 countries across Asia, Africa and Latin America, to help some of the poorest people in the world, regardless of religion, to work their way out of poverty.
